Planning Your Trip

If it is your first trip, combine Gangtok with a North Sikkim excursion (Lachung/Lachen) for variety, or pair Gangtok with Darjeeling for city, monasteries and tea gardens. West Sikkim (Pelling) suits travellers who want quieter mountain views.
A comfortable Gangtok and Darjeeling trip takes 5-6 days. Adding North Sikkim (Lachung/Lachen) usually needs 7-8 days so you are not rushing the long mountain drives. Tell us your dates and we will pace it well.
March to May brings pleasant weather and blooming valleys, while October to early December offers clear mountain views. Winters are cold with occasional snow at high altitude, and monsoon (June-August) can cause road delays in the hills.
